New favorite ground beef recipe,with only 23 minutes of hands-on time. Casseroles are a fantastic make-ahead option for families who are constantly on the go.
Ingredients
1 pound (450g) ground beef.
1 14 1/2 oz (400g) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano, undrained.
1 10 oz (250g) can diced tomatoes and green chilles, undrained.
1 6 oz (170g) can tomato paste.
1 teaspoon salt.
1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning.
1/4 teaspoon pepper.
3 cups uncooked medium egg noodles.
5 green onions, chopped.
1 8 oz (220g) container sour cream.
1 8 0z (230g) cream cheese, softened.
4 ounces (120g) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, about 1 cup.
4 ounces (120g) shredded Parmesan cheese, about 1 cup.
4 ounces (120g) shredded Mozzarella cheese, about 1 cup.
Directions
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium, stir constantly. 5 to 8 minutes or until meat crumbles and is no longer pink, drain. Stir in both cans diced tomatoes and next 4 ingredients. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 F (180C). Prepare egg noodles according to package directions. Stir together hot cooked noodles, chopped onions, sour cream and cream cheese until blended.
Spoon egg noodle mixture into lightly greased 13x9 inch baking dish. Top with beef mixture, sprinkle with cheese in order listed.
Bake covered at 350F (180C) for 35 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more minutes. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
